Less than an hour north of Charlotte, Concord is one of the biggest cities in the area. The city is over 200 years old, so expect tons of history, Southern culture and a very vibrant nightlife scene. For food choices, Concord is a hotspot for ethnic cuisine. Asian, Mexican, Indian, the choices are endless for exotic food. You can also find tons of American style bars and pubs, making Concord a complete dining city.

Aroma Indian Cuisine

You will not find better Indian food around Charlotte than the exquisite dishes offered by Aroma. The weekends here are the busiest days thanks to their buffet. If you're unfamiliar with Indian food, be sure to come in on the weekends to try your hand at the numerous dishes here. If you're into spicy, the Rasam soup is amazing. And for salad, be sure to try the Paneer tikka. A steaming plate of cabbage, peppers and onions along with pieces of paneer make this one of the best dishes.

Twin Peaks

Twin Peaks is one of Concord's more upscale bars. Everything from the burgers to the beer choices are stellar. For hamburgers, the B.E.L.T. (bacon, eggs, lettuce tomato) is great if you're on the hunt for protein, while the Philly cheesesteak is great for any hankering. There's also a full steak menu, so be on the lookout for their world class sirloin. You have over a dozen whiskey choices, from the local Woodford Reserve to the imported Irish Tullamore Dew.

Rossario's Pizza

For some classic Italian food, Rosario's is always a good choice. The pizza here is definitely gourmet. The Caprese pizza is one of their best slices, thanks to the incredibly fresh basil pieces. The Bruschetta pizza is another great Italian gourmet choice. There's all sorts of Italian dishes here, from eggplant parmesan to a wonderful penne Rosario. The sides are excellent too: Their antipasto salads are to die for, while the garlic knots are a crowd favorite. And if it's your first time, make sure you order their espresso soda!

E Noodles

As we mentioned, Concord is home to some great ethnic restaurants, and E Noodles covers the Japanese aspect. The sushi here is hands-down the best around. The rainbow roll is a crowd favorite, along with the beautiful Grim Reaper roll with salmon. But if you're a little on the fence about Asian food, the Korean BBQ tacos are a safe bet. For some Thai food, the Pad Thai is sure to wow you. The ambiance is beautiful: passionate red walls and gorgeous cherry wood seating give this place an air of elegance.

The Wine Room

For great food and even better wine, The Wine Room in Concord makes for a perfect night out. The ambiance here is definitely classy — quiet, a beautiful interior and amazing works of art all make this place shine. If you're into trivia, be sure to come in on Wednesdays, their trivia night. The wine choices are stellar. If you like a strong, tart red, the Woop Woop will stun you with its blackberry and and licorice flavors. For white wine, you cannot go wrong with their Urban, a resiling, with a beautiful fruity finish.

Andele! Mexican Restaurant

And finally, Andele! is Concord's premier Mexican restaurant. The carne asada tacos are to die for, especially thanks to their fresh pico de gallo sauce. However, the salsas themselves are the crowd favorite here. From the green salsa to the mild and extremely hot, these salsas make the dishes. The menudo is another stellar choice. The beef tripe is cooked to perfection (no easy task), and the sauce in this dish is excellent as well. The ambiance is pretty nice here. Forgoing the cliched Mexican themes, they instead went for a cozy setting with a few TVs and a full bar.
