If you're looking for an elaborate costume party to attend, then you should check out HighBall Halloween in Columbus, Ohio! Founded in 2008, this annual event combines runway style with the culture of the Short North Arts District. Become the model you always wanted to and show yourself off on High Street. You are what you wear at each HighBall Halloween.
HighBall Halloween is hosted by the Short North Alliance and it helps raise money to support parking management, public art installations, holiday campaigns, promotions, and clean and safe initiatives within the Short North Arts District. In other words, your support and partying during the HighBall Halloween festival helps make our great city of Columbus that much better of a place!
A Two Night Event
HighBall Halloween has recently been upgraded to a full two-night event in the Short North Arts District between East Goodale and High Street and Goodale to Nationwide. You'll find that it has a street party, live art, and a stage that will electrify you with the performances that are booked. And don't forget about the public costume contest! HighBall Halloween allows you to become what you wear.
On Friday, you can expect to enjoy the HighBall Halloween on the Rocks, which is their annual tribute concert which honors fashion in all it's glory. On Saturday, you will enjoy the HighBall Halloween High Fashion event, which will highlight fashion during the Public Costume Contest and the Battelle Costume Courture Fashion Show. This show will impress the audience with their over-the-top costume collections.
Starting Back in 2008
What began as a one-night event centering around the signature Battelle Costume Couture Fashion Show, has now morphed into what you know and love as the HighBall Halloween event. Teams of local designers used to compete for the top spot and cash prize in the show, however, after almost 10 years of outlandish costumes, uncommon couture, and nationally recognized frivolity, has helped HighBall Halloween support so much more in our community. Columbus will never be the same, with or without our HighBall Halloween.
