Service Area • Jamestown Bars & Restaurants

Jamestown, North Carolina is a great town, known for being a popular suburb of Greensboro, and for being a historic and friendly community of hard-working people. Its schools are revered throughout Guilford County, and it it the home of Guilford Technical Community College, a great college where adults from all over the Greensboro area go to learn new trades. If you find yourself in Jamestown, there are plenty of great attractions for you to check out such as the historic Castle McCulloch, Mendenhall Plantation, The Deck, and an extremely popular attraction, the World's Largest Highboy Dresser! Which kind of speaks for itself. While you're in Jamestown, there are also a ton of great restaurants and bars to check out, if you're so inclined. Below we have provided a list of our favorite places to grab a bite to eat, or to sit down for a drink in Jamestown, and what makes them so great.

Southern Roots

It doesn't get any better than good old-fashioned Southern cuisine, and the folks over at Southern Roots know this better than anybody. Beloved far and wide for their nearly perfect Southern menu, Southern Roots is about as good as it gets. There are few restaurants that really perfect the feeling of Southern hospitality quite as well as the folks over at Southern Roots. The decor is nothing below absolutely beautiful, and not to mention 100% clean. With their modern seating arrangements, impressive bar, and freshly-painted walls, Southern Roots is one of the prettiest places to eat in all of Jamestown. However, you don't only have to eat inside, as they have outside patio seating, that is heated during the colder months, so you won't have any problem eating outside almost any time out of the year. This outside patio is occasionally adorned with live music that you will absolutely love. You will feel like royalty walking through their doors, as they will greet you immediately, and treat you like a beloved neighbor. Their service is expedient and competent, and the food itself is beyond compare. If you decide to stop in at Southern Roots for lunch then strongly recommend that you start out with some Thai Shrimp and finish off with A Turkey and Brie sandwich. If you're stopping in for dinner though, you absolutely must try the Seafood Gumbo. We can't recommend Southern Roots enough!

Happy Garden

There are a great number of things that the great town of Jamestown is known for, and yet quality Chinese cuisine is, unfortunately, not one of them. However, there does happen to be one Chinese restaurant in Jamestown, right on Main Street called Happy Garden. You wouldn't guess it from the relatively plain exterior, but Happy Garden is actually one of the greatest places to eat in all of Jamestown. Their staff is remarkably friendly and helpful. If you ever have any questions about anything about their menu, or even if you're simply looking for directions on how to get there, they will be more than happy to oblige. The food at Happy Garden is unbelievable. Every single thing on the menu has been carefully crafted and cooked to absolute perfection, and they don't only have Chinese food -- in fact, they have a plethora of Asian fusion menu items such as Thai and Vietnamese food as well. So no matter what Asian country you would like to enjoy a meal from, you can be sure that Happy Garden will be able to cook it to perfection. Some of our favorite items on their menu include the Broccoli Shrimp, the Phoenix Dragon Combination Platter, the Chicken Japanese Hibachi, the Beef Pho, and the Shrimp Pad Thai. Yes, that's a lot of recommendations, but once you try Happy Garden out, you will understand why we are so indecisive on which dish to recommend above all of the others. It is simply all too good!
