For anime lovers, this expo is pure heaven. All of the events and activities revolve around everything you have ever wanted to know about anime. This expo attracts some of the every best in the industry and the end result is the enjoyment of guest panels, table top gaming, competitions, an arcade and even concerts. The top attractions include the Masquerade cosplay, anime music videos and even workshops. You can enjoy video rooms where anime screenings run all day and night. Looking to add to your awesome collection of anime or maybe just getting a collection started, you are in the right place. There is a large exhibition hall where you can peruse a wide variety of works from numerous exhibitors and some of the best in the business. You can also get your own personalized artwork created for you at the expo. We cannot stress enough that this is the go to expo for anything and everything anime.
The Expo
The Anime Expo is held at the Los Angeles Convention Center and is the largest North American anime convention. There is so much to take in at this expo that it is truly difficult to know where to begin. We recommend that you start by checking out the AMV competition. If you are interested in the AMV creation process, there will be ample opportunity to learn about the creation process and even show off your own work. The biggest names in the industry will be there so get ready to be excited as you watch them unveil their latest projects. If you have questions about the process, there will be an opportunity to ask anything you want of the creators. There will be a chance to take a break from all of the activity as well. There is an area where you can kick back and read one of over 4000 volumes of manga. Intrigued by what is coming up in terms of movies or new series, you can also check out screenings of up and coming anime.
Have an interest in cosplay? No problem, Cosplay Sempai will be on hand as they promote the art and acceptance of this community. You know what this means don't you? People watching is going to be at an all time high so make sure you bring your camera with you. You can even compete in a grand showcase of cosplay performance. Sets have been built as perfect back drops to take photos in. Believe it or not, you can even visit an area where you can get your costume repaired if you need to. One of the beautiful things about this expo is that you can approach this great art form from th ebase level all the way up to the academic level. Workshops are also available where you can have hands-on, interactive sessions that will help you learn new skills including sewing, origami, dancing and drawing.
If you are into more of the electronic side of things, get ready for some modern and vintage arcade game playing. There is even a dance component to anime where you can attend workshops and learn how to incorporate dance with your anime as well participate in competitions. How about music and singing? You will be able to experience everything from J-pop idols to ani-song singers. And there is something for everyone in the Karaoke room. Last but not least there is a huge art and shopping component at the expo. Amateur and semi-professional artists will be on hand offering their prints, crafts, clothing and much more. Get ready to take your time and check out all of the wares brought by over 300 vendors.
Getting to the Anime Expo
